Electoral Commission Receives Fresh Consignment of Ballot Papers

Entebbe, Uganda — The Electoral Commission (EC) on Tuesday received another batch of ballot papers at Entebbe International Airport as preparations for the upcoming electoral process continue to gather pace.

The latest consignment comprises ballot papers designated for District Chairpersons and District Women Councillors. Officials from the Commission said the delivery is part of a phased arrival of sensitive electoral materials ahead of polling.

Speaking at the airport, EC officials confirmed that the ballot papers were received under tight security and will be transported to the Commission’s storage facilities for verification and safekeeping before being dispatched to various districts.

“This is part of our ongoing logistical preparations to ensure that all electoral materials are delivered on time and in accordance with the electoral roadmap,” the Commission said in a brief statement.

The arrival was overseen by representatives from the Electoral Commission, security agencies, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure transparency and accountability in the handling of the materials.

The Electoral Commission has previously assured the public that all necessary arrangements are being put in place to guarantee a smooth and credible electoral exercise. Further consignments of ballot papers and related materials are expected in the coming days as preparations intensify.
