Lira Police West Division have launched investigations into a suspected murder following the discovery of a decomposing body inside a pit latrine at Savior Secondary School in Kakoge “B” Cell, Ojwina Ward.

The incident was reported yesterday at around 9:00am by Adupa Johnson, 57, the Director of Savior Secondary School, according to Jimmy Patrick Okema, the North Kyoga Regional Police Spokesperson.

Okema said the deceased is an unidentified adult male whose body was found in an advanced state of decomposition. The exact date of the incident remains unknown.

Upon receiving the report, police teams including the Divisional Police Commander (DPC), Officer in Charge of Criminal Investigations (OC CID), Crime Intelligence officers, Scene of Crime personnel, Fire Brigade, and the Homicide Unit responded promptly to the scene.

The area was examined, documented, and necessary procedures were undertaken to retrieve the body.

Authorities have not yet identified any suspects, and investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the death.

Police have appealed to the public for any information that may help identify the deceased or aid the investigation.
