Lamwo,Uganda; Lamwo District Education Department has organized a high-level stakeholders’ meeting to evaluate sector performance and plan strategic priorities for 2026.

Specifically, officials scheduled the meeting for Friday, February 13, 2026, to strengthen coordination among key education stakeholders across Lamwo District.

Additionally, head teachers and School Management Committee chairpersons will join District Executive Committee members and representatives from the RDC’s office.

Furthermore, District Education Officer Banabas Langoya confirmed the forum will interrogate 2025 academic performance and systemic weaknesses affecting local schools.

Notably, stakeholders will examine staffing gaps, learner attendance trends, infrastructure constraints, supervision mechanisms, and overall examination outcomes in primary schools.

Moreover, district leaders intend to align education priorities with national standards and community expectations for improved learning results in 2026.

However, persistent teacher shortages and limited classrooms continue to strain administrators striving to raise academic competitiveness across the district.

Consequently, district officials are urging collective responsibility and practical solutions from political leaders and school managers during the consultative meeting.

In addition, technical teams will present data-driven reviews to guide budget allocations and targeted interventions for underperforming schools this year.

Similarly, School Management Committees are expected to strengthen oversight and enforce accountability standards within their respective institutions.

Meanwhile, the Resident District Commissioner’s office will emphasize governance compliance and reinforce collaboration between administrators and surrounding communities.

Subsequently, participants identified key operational gaps that hinder equitable access and consistent learner progression throughout the previous academic year.

Therefore, stakeholders will craft measurable action plans with clear timelines and performance indicators for every school across Lamwo District.

Importantly, the engagement seeks to rebuild public confidence in government schools through transparency and stronger supervision of academic programs.

Likewise, district planners believe stronger coordination will unlock resources and partnerships supporting curriculum delivery and learner retention.

Earlier, education leaders observed fluctuating attendance rates that undermined classroom continuity and affected examination preparedness in several schools.

Moving forward, the department will intensify supervision visits and mentorship programs to support teachers and head teachers districtwide.

Finally, stakeholders expressed optimism that coordinated implementation will deliver measurable improvements in Lamwo District education sector performance during 2026.
